The Westside neighborhood of Santa Barbara is generally considered to be the area between State Street, Clearview Road, Cliff Drive and Las Positas Road. This neighborhood has a wide variety of styles and ages of homes, plus numerous condominium and apartment complexes. The homes closer to State Street are usually the older ones, some dating back to the 1880's and as the City progressed outward, more homes were built further away from State Street. Many of the homes built in the 1920's rival the homes in San Roque and Samarkand in style and quality, but they are usually smaller in scale. In 1959, the 101 Freeway was built, which effectively split the Westside down the middle. Check 93101 for home/condo values, home sales graph and social/economic data.
