Stan came to school at the University of California Santa Barbara, fell in love with all the area had to offer and later returned to make Santa Barbara his home. Like most Californians, Stan´s hobbies are active ones that take advantage of Santa Barbara's moderate climate. Stan enjoys jogging, camping, playing tennis, hiking, car shows and spending time with his daughter Tenaya, who remains a high priority in his life. Stan embraces fatherhood and ranks being an attentive and dedicated parent as a great measure of his success in life.

Stan and Tenaya TablerStan grew up in the San Francisco Bay area and from an early age enjoyed most summers and holidays living in Yosemite National Park, where his mother worked. While in high school, Stan was awarded the Young Californian Medal for Bravery for rescuing an elderly man from a burning car and was one of five nominated for the National Award. After high school, Stan lived in Yosemite Valley during the summers, worked to pay his way through college and started rock climbing. After transferring to and graduating from the University of California Berkeley, with a Degree in Environmental Studies, Stan stayed on in Yosemite for five years. He credits this experience for teaching him the importance of tremendous personal effort, customer service and follow-up to the development of positive client relations. You will notice this in his work today as he is enthusiastic, optimistic, realistic, hardworking and very successful in helping his clients obtain their real estate goals.

Stan Tabler rock climbing: Bishops Terrace, Yosemite National ParkAfter moving to Santa Cruz, on the California coast, Stan earned his Santa Barbara Real Estate Salesperson License and began his sales career on February 7, 1980 with one of the largest real estate firms in the Santa Cruz/San Jose area. Stan had an interesting and challenging introduction to real estate in the early 1980's (as interest rates hovered around 17.5%), but was an immediate success, winning his company´s "Rookie of the Year" award. By 1983, he had obtained a second Degree in Business along with his Real Estate Broker License and was selling real estate while operating a property management company.

Stan Tabler rafting; Yosemite National ParkReturning to Santa Barbara in early 1984, Stan joined Merrill Lynch Realty and by January 1985, received the "Top Dollar Associate" award for Santa Barbara County. Over the years, the company´s name changed many times; from Merrill Lynch Realty to Prudential California Realty to Prudential Jon Douglas Company to Coldwell Banker Jon Douglas Company and is now known simply as Coldwell Banker, but Stan´s business continued to prosper. He is consistently in the top 1% of agents nationwide and in 1994, 2000 and 2001 was awarded the California "Top 100" award for his production.

Stan & a younger Tenaya Tabler: Lake Tenaya, Yosemite National ParkContinuing his education, Stan graduated from the Realtors Institute of California (GRI) in 1989, earned the coveted Certified Residential Specialist (CRS) designation in 1996 and the Accredited Buyer Representative (ABR) designation in 2001. Fewer than 6% of agents nationally have earned the right to use these  designations. Also in 2001, Stan was designated as an Architectural Properties Specialist for his focus on selling distinctive properties. Stan´s quest for continuing education demonstrates his interest providing his clients with consistently high representation.
